Before a bit of history: the term Café racer was born in the United Kingdom, during the first half of the sixties, to indicate in a derogatory way the motorcycles that the young people of the Rocker movement flaunted, parking them in front of the public places they frequented and characterized by the external presence of their motorcycles. The first of these was the 59 Club, while the most famous is the Ace cafe.
These motorcycles were road motorcycles stripped of everything related to tourism and equipped with specialist accessories and modified superstructures – often self-built – so as to look like racing motorcycles, but the reality used exclusively to show off and satisfy the ego of their owners.
In modern lexical use, Café racer is a motorcycle with a sporty appearance, often retro in style, structurally and mechanically comparable to a standard motorcycle. (Source: Wikipedia)
